Classic iron railings with spear or fleur-de-lis tops remain a favourite for Poole's older houses. We make them in sections to suit the length of your wall, with posts at regular intervals and details such as gilded finials or twisted bars if you want them. Sections are joined neatly at the posts so the run looks continuous from end to end, even on a long boundary wall.
Steel railings suit modern houses and blocks of flats. We can follow the line of a curved or stepped wall, so the railings sit neatly on top rather than leaving awkward gaps, and finish them in black or another colour to suit the building. Ball-topped posts and plain bars give a simple, modern look that works on newer homes.
For a front boundary we often make railings and gates as one design. A matching gate between brick piers keeps the frontage consistent, and we can fit the gate to open the way that works best for your path or drive. These black railings curve with the brick wall beneath them, following it round a corner. Plain bars rise above a ball-topped post, with shrubs planted behind. Railings made to the exact line of a wall like this avoid awkward gaps.
Black railings sit along the top of a curved brick retaining wall, stepping up as the ground rises. Posts with ball tops mark each change in level. The planting behind stays visible, while the railings give a firm edge above the drop.
Low black railings enclose a small front garden on a block-paved street. A curved-top gate leads to the front door, and the railings wrap round the planting to the side. Twisted detail on some of the bars adds interest without clutter, and the black finish sits well against the red brick.
Black railings run between two red brick piers, alternating plain bars with ones that carry a twisted basket detail. The run sits along a low wall in front of a mature tree, fixed to the pier with a bracket at the end. It is a tidy way to finish a corner plot.
